Mohammad Farooq’s aesthetic creations, which include a paperless office and lounge made of 100 per cent recycled materials, will be featured at the environmentally conscious Hotel Show to be held at the three-day Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) between June 8 and 10.
"I always wanted to do something like this. The idea is to create awareness about the environment and also show how stuff that’s considered useless could be put to good use," said Farooq who hails from Pakistan and is one of the three partners of Al Quba Trading Company, which is putting the show together.
"We wanted to make an enduring statement about caring for the environment.
"We can all make a difference both corporately and personally to reduce our carbon footprint,"
said Maggie Moore, Exhibition Director, The Hotel Show 2008.
The show has also made sustainability the focus of its Seven Star Conference, with the ‘green’ theme threading throughout the three-day event.
