Assalam-u-alaikum
EID MUBARAK TO ALL:
The month of Ramadan, which brings with it the unlimited bounties from our Lord ends with another blessed occasion of Eid. For Muslims Eid is the occasion of celebration, and more than that thanking the Almighty for providing us the blessed occasion to wipe out sins and add to our good deeds.
Every year where like all the Muslim brothers I feel happy I also feel a sense of sadness for the not being able to do more during this month. I also become more concerned about my behavior before and after Ramdan, which falls short of the basic standard prescribed by the Almighty. I wish and hope my readers are better and more satisfied with their deeds than I am.
This issue of PEHCHAAN is celebrating Eid as well as of achieving a very important mile stone of its journey of being a Golden Number Issue i.e. completing its age of 25 months.
PEHCHAAN was launched on 14th August 2007 with the intention to bring the community at one platform and as the representative of COMMON PAKISTANI, a person toiling in over 100F temperature of UAE in summer and having the dreams of happy and prosperous life in Pakistan. We had made it our objective to promote the cause of whole Pakistan and not of any particular class of Pakistan especially of the ones who are very capable of doing it on their own.
We would like to know the opinion of our readers who now Mashallah are more than 20,000 to let us know honestly whether we have succeeded in the above objective. Your honest and candid opinion will guide and help in keeping our focus.
Pakistan Paindabad.

At this precise moment the crowd’s excitement fused with curiosity and anxiety. Their faces where masked with the “who-are-the-lucky-winners” expression. Finally, the judges put a halt to the growing tension and announced the three lucky winners. The prize entries were:-

Quit Taking a Ride... and Take the Wheel |
|
Quit Taking a Ride... and Take the Wheel. Winners are always in the driver's seat. As a result, they let their actions rise above their excuses.
|
Quit Taking a Ride... and Take the Wheel. Winners are always in the
driver's seat. As a result, When problems arise, what's your first reaction? Do you think like a cop, identifying culprits and assigning blame? Do you vent your anger on anyone within your yelling radius? Do you submerge yourself in regret, thinking, if only? Or do you immediately get creative and think, how can we make this right?
Early in my career, I asked my boss why, when the rest of us couldn't find daylight, he could see the light at the end of the tunnel and it was always coming from a rainbow?
"It comes from a lesson I learned long ago," he said. "The more you focus on the positive side of life, the more you will attract the positives. The things we focus on create a magnet for our lives."
As the years since then have taught me, my boss was right. Focus on excuses, and every challenge is a stumbling block. Focus on solutions, and every challenge becomes a stepping stone.
During one of Franklin D. Roosevelt's election campaigns, his campaign manager was about to print 3 million copies of the candidate's acceptance speech with his photograph alongside. Then someone pointed out that the photographer had never given permission to use the photograph. According to the copyright laws at that time, you could be fined a dollar per copy for publishing unauthorized photographs. The campaign couldn't take a $3 million hit.
The campaign manager felt a tinge of panic, but instead of thinking up excuses or finding someone to blame, he kept his cool and started considering ways to handle the situation. Could this disaster be turned into a dividend? He had an idea. He cabled the photographer: "I have a plan that could mean a great deal of publicity for you. What's it worth to you if I use your photo on this campaign material?" The photographer cabled back: "I can't afford more than $250."
It was a deal!
By focusing on finding a solution, FDR's campaign manager was not only able to prevent great embarrassment and fines, but he also forged a lasting relationship between the photographer and FDR's administration - and he got a pretty good deal for a crucial photo.
Winners are skilled at seeing solutions. They do this in various ways. One powerful way is to cultivate a heightened awareness of solutions - that is, when they encounter a problem, they immediately start seeing possible solutions. It's a habit that can be cultivated, and it has to do with a take-charge mindset-taking the wheel instead of letting events drive themselves. When we change the way we look at things, things change the way they look. If we remain open to new experiences, we discover new ways of doing things, new ways of enjoying life. If we train ourselves to think in terms of solutions instead of problems, we begin to see more solutions. Soon problems become merely occasions to find solutions - a kind of game that challenges you to solve puzzles.
You can train yourself to look for good outcomes by becoming aware of how you react when a problem arises. Do you get angry? Do you start assigning blame? If so, catch yourself before you speak. Take a breather. Remain calm. You're inside the problem; where's the exit? What needs to be done right away? What can be done later? What can be done to keep this from happening in the future?
Next time you hop into your car, consider how much bigger your windshield is than your rear view mirror. There's a reason for this: in driving, as in life, you need to keep your attention focused forward more than backward. Keep your eyes on the road ahead, always look for winning solutions. Leave the problems and excuses in your rearview mirror.
Check out Winners ALWAYS Quit for six other pretty good habits you can swap for really great results winning with you!

Let's Speak is a PAD initiative to have a dialog with the community and air opinions of community members on different issues.
This time our Q&A session focuses on the importance of EID Day. Following are the responses received to PAD Editorial Team's Questionnaire: |
Q1: How do you compare you feelings on EID in DAIS & PARDAIS? |

|

|

|

|
Not much difference! You have to celebrate Eid with your immediate family which I have here with me :)
Farooq Hassan |
Personally I like celebrations in collective manner, So Eid in pardais is less sweeter due to small circle. Whereas, in Dais with full family gathering and lot of halla gullah.
Nihal Abdul |
In Dais, family and friends are there to enjoy the colours of Eid and In Pardais it feels more lonely on such occassions.
Naveed Ahmed |
As you know in perdais, we have not much activities, specially for those who have no family here, we just go for Nimaz then come to room and try to make some delicious food and then sleeeeeeeeeep.
Mr. Naeem |
|
Q2: Would you like to share with us any interesting incidence of this EID? |

We went to Fujairah beach for picnic and big crabs started to come close to us slowly, because we were cooking fish, then we all ate together. I also took pictures of the crabs eating our fish.
M.Ali |
We went to Al-Ain on the second day of Eid and while coming back missed the right exit and had to travel to Abu Dhabi before we reached Dubai and to Sharjah – though it was more tough but equally interesting!
Farooq Hassan |
I would not call it interesting incident but it was amazing because my wife is not Pakistani but she made very nice swayaan which remind me of swayaan cooked by my mother.
Omer Janjua |
|
