Assalam o'likum!
Once again Pakistan is faced with a catastrophe of unprecedented proportions in the shape of IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons). Our own brothers and sisters have been subjected to a tragic ordeal where they have had to leave their peaceful homes and seek shelter elsewhere.
The Pakistani community as always has risen to the occasion and done all it can individually as well as collectively to mitigate the suffering of those who are the victims of this unbearable hardship. Our Associations, NGOs, Civil Society, Religious Groups, philanthropist, Govt. bodies and even small children are contributing generously to contribute to the needy.
We as the Association of Pakistanis living in UAE are also doing our duty by putting our humble efforts to be the part of this big activity. We would also like our brothers to consider that where it is test of our goodwill and compassion to help these people, it is also the test of our resolve to find out and uproot the causes of such conflicts and rid once and for all our society from such elements, who have created this situation either in the name of religion, politics or national spirit. If we fail to act in these testing times, these situations will re-occur again in future and may be (GOD forbid) we may not have the resolve and energy left to fight them at that time.
May GOD help us, our suffering innocent brothers and sisters, our armed forces and people who are trying to do the right thing!!!
Pakistan Paindabad.

- Girls Wing “Summer Fiesta” |
Friday, 15th May will always be remembered in the annuals of the Pakistan Association Dubai, as the feminine youth of the Pakistani community inspired every heart by showing its mettle in the form of a successful Summer Fiesta. The festival was held within the premises of PAD from 4 pm to 11pm in the night.
 |
|
In spite of the day being a so hot more than 1000 people showed up. Around 25 stalls were rented out, a few of which belonged to the Girls Wing members. One could not overlook the extraordinary discipline and management of the event, which was demonstrative of the hard work and the excellent team effort the girls put in. Clothes, shoes, books, jewellery, food items and a number of other Pakistani traditional things were sold at the stalls. The food stalls were the most successful ones as they provided a delicious variety of Pakistani food on very reasonable prices. A few stalls were hired by organizations of world fame such as Diana of London, ARY, Darussalam and Al Huda International.
The atmosphere was such that it made every person feel proud of being a Pakistani. The main objective of the event was to highlight the image, heritage and culture of Pakistan. A heritage corner was decorated with handicraft items, which are special to Pakistan only. The national songs, which were played in the background gave rise to everybody’s patriotic feelings.
To discover such a determined and particular Pakistani youth amidst the turmoil that our country is facing today is a glimmer of hope. A percentage of the revenue generated will be dedicated to the Swat relief camp organized by the PAD. This drew the attention of many people towards such a noble cause.
The main sponsor of the event was Maxcare International and the co- sponsors and media sponsors were ARY.
The Girls Wing whose mission is to unite the evolving feminine strength of our society has so far been successful in achieving this goal. They are striving in their efforts to reach the heights of excellence.
