Dawn of Winters and Shoes
Winter is around, the chill, the excitement sets in and the summer too takes a recluse.
But have we changed ourselves? Our mode of work and most importantly our ease of being approachable; whereby the heaps of arrogance and ignorance has isolated us as a nation.

The financial crisis has taken a swoop everywhere; people have started losing jobs and business. But, every business or every cloud has a silver lining. But have we sat together, as brothers and sisters to think what NEXT? What is the survival kit?

Survival kit is based on 2 things; learning and economic activity generation. Learning of what then? How does it answer to our financial crisis which looms far and wide?

Learn every activity, skill, be it related to your degree or not. Does it require an electrical engineering degree to understand circuitry? Not necessarily. The cars running in and around Dubai, out of which 90% have been checked by ‘skilled’ hands and lesser educated ones.
So why not add to the learning set, again? Education is not restricted to universities.

This is the dilemma, as Muslim nations, we face that combined all Muslim nations don’t add up 500 universities. And out of those 500 universities, none of these line up to be internationally challenging to those in the West. Let alone America, our supposedly greatest foe, it boasts more than 4000 universities; which also tells why our youth are so ready to join the Ivy League and cause massive brain drain to our frail economies.

Ours is an extraordinary nation. As this is written, many a talents are being mishandled or being exported.

How to sustain ourselves in this hour of uncertainty? Simple, observe, learn and share. Can we as Pakistanis do this? Do we have a history like this? We are unconsciously tutored not to share anything right from the school days. Why? We are so ominous and superstitious that children don’t share their notes and this continues to our lives where we keep ourselves quite isolated. Every cloud has it’s breadth and weight of water and carries a different portrait in the skies. Nobody can steal from you, neither can you from anyone else. Period.

Tips to improve our lives

· Concentrate on the industry, work, skill which suits your mood; at least in our spare time we should invest least of our abilities to our passionate wants and dreams.

· When you get hold of such skill, learn it; step by step and take a note of it. No matter how ill educated you are, you are bound to walk miles and you would love it.

· Share. Yes, the most important and hardest part for us Pakistanis. We fear that our skill is going to be stolen. You’re not giving away money, remember?

For once, just for the sake of your soul enlightening, give away your knowledge. People can take your knowledge but not your fate nor your job. Agreed? If yes, read on.

· When you start sharing your knowledge fortune, make a group. Discuss everyday, off and on, about latest development. Synergy takes leaps in advancement.

· When you are established enough, formulate business plan to make it happen and plan your economic returns on your rightly acquired knowledge.

Areas to explore

· Home related activities, where the learning factor is easy where minimal amount of money is often ignore when being paid out.

· Automobile industry; oil is not drying for a couple of years more, it is least affected by the financial turmoil and it continues to flow like the candle which burns, no matter how deep the darkness.

· Cooking; men and women want food, no matter how expensive. Men, please don’t leave this skill to women in such crises days, or you might lose more money to them in ransom than you might think.

· Iron / steel industry. Engineers were at work, now they aren’t. You have a fair chance to contribute with them.

· Personality development; if you know that you could provide useful insight and developing people through your focus and leadership qualities; discuss it and share it. Let yourself be heard.

· Creative art qualities; they are not going to die out. Financial crisis can take away money but not the aesthetics. Right?

· Intellectual avenues; if you think you can influence people with words, write it and let it be known.

· Research and Development; improve and innovate. Watch things happen, big or small. Brainstorm ideas to improve it. Somewhere, someday you would be known and called.

Improvement should be everyday and every single moment is precious which you can contribute to yourself and your nation. Earning livelihood would never be difficult if we are broadminded in exploring avenues.

Diggers dig stones first and then come across diamonds along the way; they also strike gold. But they learn to dig stone first. This might spare you from getting shoes often.

Start with the stones and leave the rest to dreams and passion.
